ROSE HILL -- Rosalie Griffin Smith, 81, 521 Rosemary Road, died Sunday at Duplin General Hospital, Kenansville. Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Cicero B. and Katherine Bryant Griffin and wife of the late Herman P. Smith. Formerly employed with the Rose Hill Restaurant, she was a member of the Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. M. Dale Curtis officiating.
She is survived by daughters, Faye Rutledge of Rose Hill, Joan Pruitt and Jessie Vanek; two grandchildren, Eddie and Greg Rutledge; a devoted caregiver, Treva Glaspie of Rose Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home.
