MOUNT OLIVE -- Rebecca Ward Jones, 79, 605 S. Center St., died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born in Wayne County to the late Lonnie and Rachael Newsome Ward.
She was a member of the St. Mark FWB Church where she served as past president of the senior choir and member of the Just We Girls Club.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the St. Mark FWB Church with pastor Jerome Newton, officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Ward of the home; a brother, Cecil Ward of Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. to receive friends.
