J.W. "Jimmy William" Stroud, 70, 180 Black Jack Church Road, died early Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim and Marcie Raynor officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in Winnsboro, La., he was the son of the late Herman and Minnie Howell Stroud. He was retired from Stackhouse Inc. after 15 years of service.
Mr. Stroud is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jackson Stroud; three sons, Jimmy Lee Stroud of Swansboro, Durwood Wayne Stroud and wife, Lisa, of Goldsboro, and Kenneth Ray Stroud and wife, Leigh, of Goldsboro; one brother, Arthur Herman Stroud of Broddus, Texas; one half-brother, Howard Gordy of Texas; one sister, Elaine Myers of Broddus, Texas; seven grandchildren, Steven Stroud, April Stroud, Damon Stroud, Danielle Stroud, Savannah Stroud, Will Lawhon and Erica Lawhon; and one great grandchild, Nicholas Stroud.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home.
