BURLINGTON -- Katie Matthews Faison, 88, 3121B Commerce Place, Apt. 3, died Monday at Hospice Home of Alamance County. She was born to the late George and Pleas Williams Matthews and was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Faison Sr., and a daughter, Evangeline Bell. Mrs. Faison was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, Leasburg. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by a son, Elder Herbert Faison Jr., and wife, Juanita, of Burlington; brother, Henry Matthews of Md.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lightner Funeral Home, 601 E. Ash St., Goldsboro. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington.
