Died Dec. 11, 2006

DUDLEY - Nettie Oates, 77, 642 Durham Lake Road, died Monday at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Olive. She was a native of Sampson County, a longtime member of White Oak Disciple Church in Newton Grove and employed at Wayne Memorial Hospital for many years.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Fri-day at White Oak Disciple Church, New-ton Grove, with Bishop Charles Wil-liams officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Newton Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mary Hobbs Wilson and a son, Willie Robert Oates.

She is survived by three sons; Thaddeus Oates of Dob-bersville, Rowland Oates of Bremerton, Wash., and Jeffery Oates of Raleigh; three daughters, Vickie Lanier and Felicia Bagley, both of Goldsboro and Mary Pearsall of Dudley; one brother, Martin B. Wilson of Newton Grove; one sister, Lillie Dickinson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be today at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., from 2 to 6 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
