Man charged with sexual assault

Wayne County sheriff deputies arrested a Goldsboro man for the alleged sexual assault of two girls that were in his care.
Terry Douglas Brake, 59, of 102 Wesley Drive, has been charged with first-degree statutory sexual offense, attempted first-degree statutory sexual offense, sexual offense by a substitute parent and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Brake was booked into the Wayne County Detention Center with a $440,000 secured bond.
According to a press release from the sheriff's office, on May 24, the sheriff's office received a report of sexual assault. The alleged assaults happened over a two-year period.
The district attorney and State Bureau of Investigation assisted in the case.
