Small business center offers advice, direction

The Wayne Business and Industry Center's Small Business Center will be offering free counseling services at several locations in the community this summer.
Dale Fey, the center's director, provides one-on-one analysis, evaluation and counseling and helps entrepreneurs get on track to owning their own businesses or becoming more profitable.
The services are free and confidential. They are regularly offered at the Small Business Center at WCC.
But now through Aug. 15, Fey will have hours of operation at the following locations:
* Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp., 219 N. John St., the first Monday of the month, 8:30-10 a.m.
* Wayne County Public Library, 1001 E. Ash St., third Monday of the month, 3-5 p.m.
* Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, 308 N. William Street, second Tuesday of the month, 8:30 a.m. until noon
* Steele Memorial Library, 119 W. Main St., Mount Olive, first Thursday of the month, 9 a.m. to noon
* Wayne County Public Library, 202 N. Goldsboro St., Fremont, third Thursday of the month, 2-5:30 p.m.

In addition to counseling, the Small Business Center provides seminars and access to business resources for exploring business ideas, starting a business or expanding an existing business. The center offers assistance in such areas as business plans, licensing, taxes, federal and state government regulations, business ownership, loan and grant proposals, money sources, market research, cash flow projections and business management.
