Goldsboro police have two people in custody and are continuing to investigate a recent armed robbery and kidnapping at a local hotel Sunday.
The robbery occurred on March 25, just before 6:30 a.m., at the Serena Inn hotel at 708 Corporate Drive.
A man was held at gunpoint and robbed of $500 and a cell phone, according to police.
The victim reported that a white man and woman bound his hands behind his back during the robbery, then fled in an unknown direction.
The police department's Vice Unit and Criminal Investigations Division assisted with the investigation which eventually led to two suspects being charged.
John Henry Waters, 28, of West Grantham Street, and Greta Brianna Bledsoe, 22, of Johnson City, Tennessee, are both charged with a single count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping. Additional charges are expected for both defendants.
When police arrested Waters, he was caring for his infant child at the Best Value Inn located at 701 U.S. Highway 70. The infant was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care for an evaluation where, afterward, the Department of Social Services took custody of the child.
Both suspects were booked into the Wayne County Detention Center under a secured bond of $300,000.
