Dudley man charged with assaulting a handicapped person

A Dudley man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a handicapped man.

Carlos Lee Williams, 46, of 100 Rollingwood Drive, Dudley, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault on a handicapped person and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries.

In a press release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the victim reported being assaulted in his apartment on March 24.

According to the sheriff's office, the victim was allegedly beaten with a wooden chair and punched.

The assault resulted in the victim being taken to the hospital and treated for an orbital fracture of the left eye socket and vertebrae injury in the neck.

Williams was booked in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
