MOUNT OLIVE -- The University of Mount Olive Department of Music, the Office of Alumni Relations and UMO Theatre will host an event titled "It's a Great Day to be a Trojan: Reflections Through Story and Song."
It will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, in the Hazel Waters Kornegay Assembly Hall, 207 Wooten St.
The event will feature past and present music ensembles from Mount Olive College and the University of Mount Olive including New Creations, the Mount Olive Singers, and presentations by UMO Theatre and the department of music.
"It was such a blessing to sing with the New Creations when I was a student at Mount Olive College," said Sharlene Scott, a member of New Creations from 1973 to 1975. "I made many life-long friends. When I think of the songs we sang, I know we sang from our hearts about the promises of God.
"Today, when I hear those songs, I still believe them, and know from my own personal experiences that they are true."
The event is free and open to the public. A reception will be held following the program.
