The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the 1700 block of East Holly Street this morning.

Officers from the department's C-shift, VICE Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit were all on scene as the victim was taken to an ambulance on a stretcher.

Information on the victim was not immediately available, nor were details about possible suspects.

Police did have several people in handcuffs on the scene, and released at least one of them.

It was not immediately clear exactly where the shooting happened, though officers were clustered behind and around the side of a duplex at 1711 E. Holly St.

One person on the scene said they were inside the Madison Market Grill & Grocery at the corner of East Holly Street and North Madison Avenue when the shooting happened.

The man said he heard two shots ring out while he was inside the business.

This is a developing story and will be updated as additional details become available.
