Car backs across street, into building

A man was cited by Goldsboro police after he left his car running and it backed across a street and into an apartment building on Christmas Eve.
A crash report filed with the Goldsboro Police Department said the man left his car running while he went into Bees Town Grocery at 905 S. Slocumb St.
The car then slid out of park and into reverse, rolling back across South Slocumb Street before colliding with an apartment complex at 910 S. Slocumb St. It was not clear how the car came out of park and into the reverse gear.
The car damaged the exterior wall of the building.
The driver was cited for leaving his vehicle running while it was unattended.
