DUDLEY -- Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating an alleged assault that one of the victims said started over an argument about rent.

Deputies were called to Dudley Sunday night where the 32-year-old male victim said he got into an argument with his 30-year-old girlfriend who hit him with a board and broke out the rear window in his van.

The female victim said she was arguing with her boyfriend about the rent when he struck her in the face with his hand. She denied striking the man.

Deputies said the male victim had an injury to his hand, but that it did not appear to be a defensive injury. The female victim had no visible injuries, deputies said.

They were advised of the warrant process.

Damages totaled $100 to the van window.
