Woman reports being assaulted and assailant had a handgun

Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating an alleged Thursday afternoon assault in Dudley.
The 33-year-old female victim called deputies on Dec. 15 to report the alleged assault.
She told deputies that a 35-year-old man had struck her in the forehead and then placed his hands around her neck. She also told deputies she was scared because the man had a gun.
The woman also said that the man had taken her cellphone so that she could not call 911.
Deputies said there were no visible signs of injury and the woman was advised of the warrant process.
