Several people escaped injury when a fist fight turned into a gunfight at 117 Internet Cafe in Mar Mac Tuesday.

One man allegedly involved in the shooting was hit by a bullet fragment, and five people are facing charges for their involvement in the incident.

Several people began fighting inside the business at about 4:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Rakim Karim Johnson, 23, then allegedly pulled out a handgun, and D'Quirious Aaron Bradford, 19, and another bystander ran to a parked car and pulled out an SKS-style rifle. It is unclear if the weapon was fully or semi-automatic.

Bradford and Johnson began shooting at each other, the Sheriff's Office said, catching people in their crossfire, who were not injured.

The press release said Johnson was hit in the arm/shoulder area by a bullet fragment, and bullets hit cars in the parking lot and went into the Internet sweepstakes business.

The chaos broke up when everybody involved fled the scene.

A sheriff's deputy was across the street from the incident and heard the shots, and saw a white car fleeing the scene. He stopped the car on U.S. 117, just south of the intersection with Arrington Bridge Road.

Bradford, Kenya Tyree Floyd and Tyriek Langston were inside, and deputies found a loaded SKS-style rifle in the car.

All three people were detained and taken to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Annex for questioning.

Other deputies went to the hospital to look for victims, where they found Johnson and Charlie Robert Daniels.

Daniels is identified by authorities as the one who drove Johnson to the hospital after Johnson was hit with the bullet fragment.

Deputies found a second SKS-style rifle inside the vehicle Daniels drove to the hospital, and he was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Annex for questioning also.
