A woman is facing charges after allegedly shooting into her neighbor's house early Saturday morning.
Shanita S. Williams, 26, of 106 Woodside Circle, is charged with felony shooting into an occupied dwelling.
A report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said a 62-year-old woman was standing at the sink in her home at 105 Woodside Circle when she heard a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot.
Her 44-year-old son came out of his room and asked what happened.
She looked around and found a bullet hole in her laundry room wall.
Just before deputies responded to the call about the shooting, Williams called and said she was fighting with her ex-boyfriend.
She told deputies she fired her gun through her door to scare her ex-boyfriend, who was reportedly banging on the door but not trying to get into the house.
The report said there was no evidence to suggest Williams fired the weapon in self-defense.
Deputies arrested Williams, who was reportedly extremely intoxicated.
Williams was put in the Wayne County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
