A 72-year-old woman reported to Goldsboro police Monday that her dogs were stolen over the Thanksgiving holiday.
A police report on the incident said the woman's nephew went to feed her dogs at her house in the 800 block of North Virginia Street on Thanksgiving Day and found them running loose in her fenced-in backyard.
She told police that she always keeps her dogs -- one male and one female pit bull -- on a leash when she leaves town.
The woman's nephew returned on Friday to find that both dogs were gone from the back yard.
The male pit bull is a solid brown color, and the female pit bull is a white and brown color.
