41-year-old man charged with statutory sex offense with a child

Full SizeA middle-aged Goldsboro man was arrested and charged with a statutory sex offense on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Friday morning.
The suspect is not an active-duty military member and worked on base as a civilian contractor.
Thomas Jason Hall, 41, of Goldsboro, is charged with one count of statutory sex offense with a child less than 15 years old.
A press release said members of the Goldsboro Police Department's A-shift patrol, VICE Unit and SJAFB Security Forces arrested him with a warrant on the base at about 11 a.m.
Two juveniles filed a complaint on Tuesday that they had been sexually assaulted multiple times over a six-year period, and Hall was positively identified as the suspect, according to police.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, said if any additional charges are filed, they will happen by way of indictment.
Carmon said Hall was a civilian contractor working in Strategic Technology, but was unsure of Hall's specific job responsibilities.
Carmon said he could not go into how Hall knew the victims of the crime.
The arrest was without incident.
Hall is in the Wayne County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
His first appearance in Wayne County District Court is scheduled for Monday.
