A man's car was hit by gunfire when he went to take a friend some food Sunday night, but he was uninjured by the gunfire.

The man told police he went to his friend's house at 502 N. Claiborne St. with some food for him, and while he was talking to someone outside he noticed a white car drive up.

People inside the car began talking to them, and asked the witness who the victim was.

The man reportedly replied, "Who's asking?" and the people inside the car got angry and started yelling at him.

They drove off, circled the block and came back around.

When they passed back by the house, someone inside the car opened fire.

The bullets struck the victim's car several times on its passenger side, but the gunfire did not hit the man.

The victim then reportedly tried to chase the suspects but lost sight of them a short time later.

No injuries were reported.
