River flooding is expected from Irma, but not as severe as Matthew

Full SizeRiver flooding is expected as Hurricane Irma impacts North Carolina, but officials with the National Weather Service Raleigh office do not expect another Hurricane Matthew.
As of 11:30 a.m. today it appears increasingly likely that the state will experience "significant impacts" by Hurricane Irma.
Most of the state should expect "significant" rainfall that potentially could cause inland flash flooding and dangerous travel conditions.
Rain is expected to arrive late Sunday night/Monday morning, ending Tuesday.
The storm track is becoming clear, but not yet set with landfall possible over Georgia/Carolinas.
As of 11 a.m. the major storm packed winds of 175 mph, down slightly from 185 mph. It was located 120 miles southeast of Grand Turk Island moving westnorthwest at 16 mph.
It is still uncertain as to whether or not hurricane-force winds will be observed in the state.
The onset of tropical storm force will most likely be early Monday morning from south to north.
Hurricane Jose will affected some Caribbean Islands already hit by Hurricane Irma, but at this time it is not expected to affect the U.S.
