On Thursday, Aug. 17, at approximately 7:40 a.m., the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 400 block of North Hillcrest Drive, in reference to a vehicle break-in.

Officers located four vehicles in the area had been broken into and several bags and valuable items were stolen from each of the vehicles.

Officers conducted a search the area for evidence and recovered several of the items belonging to some of the four victims.

One of the victims also reported her bank cards had been stolen and used in the early morning hours on the same day.

The Goldsboro Police Department advises citizens they can help lower risks of a vehicle break-in by taking a few of the following steps.

Police advise that you secure your vehicle at all times, roll up vehicle windows when not occupied, remove purses and bags, remove electronic devices and charging cords from sight.

Police say securing your vehicle and removing valuables or bags that could contain valuables from sight does not automatically guarantee your vehicle will not be broken into.
