The city of Goldsboro's Public Works Department plans to start its annual unidirectional water-line flushing program today at 10 p.m.
Crews plan to flush the lines each day, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and will continue for six weeks, through June 22. The flushing could last longer, due to inclement weather conditions.
Residents should expect some discolored water during the six-week period. If the water becomes discolored, residents should run cold water for a short period, which should clear the line, according to city staff.
If the problem persists, residents can call the Public Works Department at 734-8674, during regular business hours, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday from 7 to 11 a.m.
