A local teen is facing drug charges after allegedly being seen selling marijuana to someone in front of a local business Friday, according to a press release.

Darius Jermaine White, of 315 Randall Lane Apt. C, whose date of birth is Jan. 24, 2000, is charged with selling and delivering marijuana. He was put in the Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

Officers from N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement and the Goldsboro and Mount Olive Police Departments were conducting surveillance on local businesses in Goldsboro Friday, the release said.

While observing an unspecified business, officers allegedly saw White conduct a "hand-to-hand drug transaction" and then drive away from the business.

Officers then stopped White's vehicle and charged him with selling and delivering marijuana.

Wayne County Sheriff Larry Pierce said no further information on the incident -- including which business was being watched and who was on the other end of the drug transaction -- could be released at this time.
