Police are investigating more than 40 vehicle break-ins, all of which took place in less than a week, and all within a mile radius of each other.
Officials say they do not yet know whether the break-ins are connected.
Thirteen vehicles were reportedly broken into Thursday morning is in the same area -- on the west side of city -- where nearly 30 car break-ins happened last weekend.
According to an incident report, nine vehicles were broken into in the 300 block of Kennon Court around 5 a.m. Thursday.
Another vehicle was broken into on 612 W. Holly St. around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, and three more were broken into around 3:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Sherard Court.
All of the vehicle break-ins that took place Thursday morning and over the weekend have happened on the west side of the city.
Over the weekend, nearly 30 were broken into Saturday night, Jan. 14, and Sunday morning, Jan. 15.
Of the weekend break-ins, seven were reported in the 700 block of Astor Court, six on West Oak Street, four in the 200 block of South Center Street, four on North Virginia Street, three on North Carolina Street, two on Dupont Circle, and one each at 410 W. Ash St. and at 307 Murray St.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, said the department does not yet know whether all of the incidents are related.
Carmon recommended that people protect their belongings by locking their car doors.
"Lock your vehicles, take all your belongings and place them in your trunk or take them in the house with you," Carmon said.
