Lighthouse Food Mart is broken into Monday

Police are investigating a break-in at the Lighthouse Food Mart in Goldsboro.
According to a police report, someone took a hammer and broke into the store at 902 Herman Place early Monday morning by busting out the glass of one of the doors.
Police responded to an alarm at the store and spotted the door's shattered glass.
Once inside the store, police found someone had attempted to get into the store's register, the report said.
Several items had been turned over and dumped on the floor, according to the report.
The report said only two cartons of cigarettes were taken from the store, which were valued at a combined $110.
According to the report, the suspect who broke in and stole the cigarettes was a black man wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, a gray shirt and black shoes.
The person fled on foot away from the store.
