Man is shot on Beech Street

A man was shot Tuesday around 10 p.m. at 503 Beech St., and one man was arrested as a result of the shooting.
Officers received a call just after 10 p.m. from 57-year-old Melvan Mateen notifying them that 50-year-old Reynaldoe Levon Edwards, of 503 Beech St., had been shot in the chest by Timothy Andre Edwards, 53, of 6271 Pine Ridge Road, Faison.
Timothy Edwards was still on scene when officers arrived, and was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or seriously injure.
He was confined in the Wayne County Jail.
Reynaldoe Edwards was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, and then flown to Vidant Medical Center for further treatment.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, did not return a call requesting comment on the shooting by press time.
Tuesday night's shooting marks the third in the city since Saturday morning.
A man was shot in the back Sunday morning while walking westward in the 700 block of Newsome Street.
Domiko Dereil Davis, 38, of 235 Wayne Ave., was walking alone when he was shot in the back, according to a police report.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 7:50 a.m. Sunday and found Davis lying on the ground in front of 1101 Crawford St.
Davis told police he does not know who shot him, and was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Another man was shot around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, and was reportedly at a liquor house when he was shot.
Theo Reshawn Washington, 27, of 1100 Jefferson Ave. Apt. 2, was shot three time in his abdomen and side at a liquor house at the corner of Wilmington Avenue and Sycamore Street.
Washington is being treated for his injuries at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Medical Center, and underwent surgery at Wayne Memorial Hospital before being taken to Chapel Hill.
There are currently no suspects in either shooting.
