One man was arrested on gun-related charges and another cited for marijuana possession Thursday after a drive-by shooting call led to a traffic stop, according to Goldsboro police.
Wayne County sheriff's deputies responded to the shooting call at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, after Absalom Cobb, 24 of 210 E. Pine St. allegedly fired at a moving car at the intersection of Wayne Memorial Drive and Tommy's Road.
During a traffic stop, two men inside the vehicle were Carlton Jackson, 26, of 1205 S. John St. and Fiante Amerson, 25, of 1111 Atlantic Ave. Both were not ultimately charged in connection to the shooting.
During the traffic stop, Jackson was found to be in possession of a handgun, and Amerson was found to have a bag of marijuana. Amerson was cited for simple possession of marijuana while Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
