MOUNT OLIVE -- A man robbed a Domino's Pizza driver at gunpoint Tuesday night on the 300 block of South Johnson Street, according to a report filed by the Mount Olive Police Department.
The report said someone ordered a pizza and had it delivered to a Terry Collins on Johnson Street. There is no one named Terry Collins in Mount Olive, according to the report.
The driver knocked on the door, but a man at the address told the driver he did not order a pizza. That's when the suspect, who was hidden around the corner of the home, approached the driver and used a shotgun to steal $60, two pizzas, two lava cakes, eight chicken wings and a soft drink.
The police used a K-9 officer to search for the suspect, and the report said the dog picked up a scent across the street from the home. But it lost the scent, officers said.
Assistant Police Chief Linda Tyson said investigators are still following leads to find the suspect. She said if anyone has information about the robbery to call police at 919-658-5031.
