A man has been charged in an Aug. 29 shooting at 105 Carraway Creek Drive that left himself, his wife and his mother-in-law injured.
Danielle Duboris Vann, 35, of 105 Carraway Creek Drive, Dudley, was released from Wayne Memorial Hospital on Sept. 2 at 3:40 p.m. and was taken into custody and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Vann was given a $1 million secured bond on the charges and put in the Wayne County Detention Center.
According to a press release on the shooting, the incident occurred because of a domestic despite between Vann and his wife, 31-year-old Valencia Mukieta Hussey.
Hussey reportedly left the residence at 105 Carraway Creek Drive Sunday, Aug.t 28, and returned around noon on Aug. 29 with her mother.
When Hussey returned to the home, Vann allegedly shot Hussey in her chest and her mother, 66-year-old Isephine Lofton Gardner, in her neck.
"It was a domestic situation," said Maj. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. "She came home and they had a confrontation."
Authorities believe Vann shot himself in his own leg.
The incident was originally reported as an armed robbery, but further investigation revealed the details of a domestic dispute that ended in all three people being shot.
Effler said authorities believe it was a neighbor who called the shooting in to 911.
Both Hussey and Gardner are expected to recover from their wounds, Effler said.
"As far as I know they're going to be all right," Effler said. "They had non life-threatening injuries."
