Fire is set in historic home

Someone reportedly broke out the window of a historic home and threw a burning object inside the house some time between Thursday evening and early Friday morning.
An incident report filed with the Goldsboro Police Department says an unknown person broke out a window on the south side of a historic home at 412 N. James St. and threw a "burning object" inside.
According to the report, a bedroom floor was burned and incurred an estimated $500 worth of damage.
The house belongs to Goldsboro Historic Properties LLC, which is a group formed in June 2014 that works to revitalize historic properties in downtown Goldsboro.
The two-story property at 412 N. James St. was purchased by the group in August 2014.
There are no suspects in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
