On July 31 at about 2:30 a.m. the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Center Street in reference to a subject being shot.
Upon arrival officers discovered Ryan Apollo Morgan, a 32 year old man and an active duty airman assigned to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, as an apparent victim of gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel responded and took him to the emergency room of Wayne Memorial, where he succumbed to his wounds.
Investigators with the criminal investigations section of the police department responded and initiated an investigation into the incident.
