Phlebotomy course offered at Wayne Community College

Wayne Community College Continuing Education will begin offering a phlebotomy technician course this fall.
The course will train students to draw blood specimens from patients. It is designed to prepare them to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology's National Phlebotomy Certification Examination.
Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Aug. 15-Dec. 28. A clinical rotation that yields 100 venipunctures and 25 finger sticks is required.
Cost of the course is $180, plus fees. There is also a required textbook.
Seats are limited, and students must first attending an information session. Two options will be offered, which are free and registration is not required. Choose from July 19, 5:30-6:30 p.m. or July 20, 12-1 p.m., in Room 161 of the Wayne Learning Center (main building) on the WCC campus.
