Silas Perkins speaks to Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies at his home on Old Grantham Road Monday morning.
No charges have been filed in a Monday shooting in what law enforcement officials say appears to be an ongoing family feud.
A detailed report was unavailable prior to press time this morning.
But Wayne County Sheriff's Officer Maj. Tom Effler said that Brian Perkins, 29, of Old Grantham Road, had been taken by Wayne County EMS to Wayne Memorial Hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to the neck.
Perkins was allegedly shot by his grandfather, Silas Perkins, 86, also of Old Grantham Road.
There were no other injuries, Effler said.
Effler said he did not know what type of weapon was used, but assumes that is was some type of handgun. He said the report was still being completed this morning while he was speaking to The News-Argus.
Silas Perkins was not at the scene of the shooting when deputies first arrived, Effler said.
However, he did show up while deputies were still there and was taken to the Sheriff's Office annex where he was interviewed by investigators. He was not arrested and cooperated fully with the deputies, Effler said.
All of the information gathered in the shooting will be compiled and turned over to the district attorney office for review and a determination of whether charges will be filed, Effler said. Effler said he did not have a condition report on Brian Perkins.
A hospital spokesman could not be reached prior to press time.
