Chronic disease workshops

Wayne County Services on Aging will have a free six-week workshop designed to help people manage their chronic illness, which includes arthritis, asthma, lung disease, cancer, heart disease, heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, renal failure and stroke.
Participants will learn how to manage pain, fatigue, depression and frustration, increase fitness and self-confidence, use medications wisely, improve communication, choose foods for health, solve problems effectively and set goals.
Classes will be held each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting May 25. There will not be a class June 15.
The workshop will take place in the conference room of the Peggy Seegars Senior Center.
Participants will receive a free book and free relaxation CD.
