A search is under way in Florida for a missing former Goldsboro resident and Air Force veteran.

Tricia Williams Todd, 30, disappeared in Hobe Sound, Fla., sometime between the night of April 26 and the morning of April 27. She has red hair, hazel eyes, is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs between 100 and 110 pounds.

Ms. Todd was last seen the night of April 25 at her home in Florida, and texted her family on the afternoon of April 26. She was supposed to pick up her 2-year-old child at 10 a.m. on April 27, but did not arrive at the pre-arranged time and location. Her ex-husband is stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

The last known photo of Ms. Todd was captured by surveillance footage at the Hobe Sound Publix, on the evening of April 26.

Ms. Todd, a hospice nurse, was scheduled to work a shift on April 30, but did not report to work.

The Sheriff's Office in Martin County, Fla., is investigating her disappearance.

Detectives are investigating three possible scenarios: Ms. Todd left on her own, and does not wish to be found; Ms. Todd left on her own to go for a walk, became injured and has been unable to contact anyone; and the possibility that Ms. Todd's disappearance is directly related to foul play. Stephanie Saunders, who lives in Goldsboro, is a close friend of Ms. Todd's and has been making efforts to raise awareness locally about the search for Ms. Todd.

"We've stayed in touch since she moved away," Ms. Saunders said. "I started out (raising awareness) on social media, and reposted everything from Search for Tricia Todd Facebook page, as well as posting about it in groups that I'm a part of."

Ms. Saunders said she has also contacted several radio stations about the matter and is planning to go around the community to post flyers about Ms. Todd's disappearance.

Maj. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said he was not personally aware of efforts being made by local law enforcement to locate Ms. Todd, but that does not mean law enforcement agents aren't on the lookout.

"Our investigators might know something about it," Effler said.

Anyone with information regarding her disappearance is asked to call the Martin County Sheriff's Office at 722-220-7000.
