On two separate occasions, an unidentified black man used a fraudulent check to purchase tires from two local car dealerships.
In one instance, the purchase was made at CCOG on March 8 and in the other, at Stevenson Honda on March 4. The subject provides an identification, which was later discovered to be fraudulent. The subject used the names of Avery Wilson and Alan Wilson, respectively.
The fraudulent checks in question display a business name of "A. Wilson Heating & AC" and "Wilson Contractors," both out of Raleigh. Both businesses are non-existent.
Both fraudulent checks were purported to be drawn on accounts from the "BB&T Credit Union" which, of course, is a fictitious financial institution. The suspect is described as a stocky black male with a very short or bald hair style. The subject was driving a white Dodge Caravan. It is apparent that the subject has the ability to modify the fraudulent checks that his is uttering, so the business name and/or financial institution may vary.
