The driver of the bus that struck and killed second-grade teacher Brandon Kincaid, 25, on the campus of Meadow Lane Elementary School Feb. 9 will not be charged.
The Goldsboro Police Department investigated the wreck and referred its findings to District Attorney Matthew Delbridge for his review.
Delbridge, who could not be reached in time for this report, recommended the driver not be charged.
The accident happened at 8:15 a.m. as students were being dropped off to school.
The bus driver, Roman Cecil Batts III, employed by the Small World day care center located near the school, told investigators he checked his mirrors before pulling off. He did not know that Kincaid, in a wheelchair, was moving through the school parking lot at the same time.
