Braswell, Burden file for public office

Former Superior Court Judge Jerry Braswell has filed for the District 8 Superior Court seat currently held by Judge Arnold Jones II.
Patricia Burden has filed for election to the District 3 seat on the Wayne County Board of Education.
Mrs. Burden was appointed to the school board in May of 2014 to complete the term of the late Thelma Smith. She is the former principal of Goldsboro High School.
Both races are nonpartisan.
Candidates for district, statewide and national offices file at the state Board of Elections office in Raleigh. Legislative candidates file in their home counties. The filing period ends Monday at noon.
