MOUNT OLIVE -- Four former coaches will be the presenters in the next session of the Mount Olive Historical Society's Historical Glimpses program.

The program on the Mount Olive area's sports history will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. at Steele Memorial Library.

The presenters will be Jimmy Adams, Ken Avent, Norman Clark and Jimmy Williams.

They have served, and/or continue to serve, the southern Wayne County and northern Duplin County areas for many years.

They occupied positions as coach, athletic directors, and educational administration in area school systems.

They continue to be spoken of fondly by hundreds of former students.

Many fond memories will return while listening to these four recall their time spent in our communities, organizers said.

Former presenters taking part in this series include Nelson Bland, Gaynelle Brock, Jean Herring, Mayor Ray McDonald Sr., Relma "Smitty" Smith and Virginia Williams.

More events are planned for this series. Suggestions for presenters are welcome.
