Former Eastern Wayne Middle School art teacher and Christian actress Ashley Bratcher is bringing her award-winning movie home.

She will host a one-time screening of "Princess Cut" at UEC Theatres Premiere 12 in Goldsboro Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at www.tugg.com/events/ 25611.

"I'm ecstatic about it. I'm ready to show my family and hometown what I've been doing the past couple of years," she said.

On the day of the screening, she will find out if she won Best Actress in the Pan Pacific Film Festival for her role in "Princess Cut."

In "Princess Cut," a struggling farmer helps his stubborn daughter discover the power of love in a rural North Carolina town.

Mrs. Bratcher says the movie provides guidance for young men and women about to start dating.

"It just provides a great conversation starter for them," she said.

But the film is perfect for the whole family, with comedy and sweet moments that pull on the heart strings.

The film won runner-up for Best Feature and Audience Choice at the Christian Worldview Film Festival in San Antonio, Texas.

This is Mrs. Bratcher's first lead role. The film was entirely shot in North Carolina.

She will be in the DVD version of "War Room," from the directors of "Fireproof." The movie premieres in theaters in August, but Mrs. Bratcher's scene will only be in the extended cut.

On Sept. 11, "90 Minutes in Heaven" will premiere nationwide. In this movie, Mrs. Bratcher plays Kate Bosworth's best friend, Susan Long, in a film that follows one man, legally dead for an hour and a half, who comes back after seeing heaven.

"I have a lot to look forward to," Mrs. Bratcher said.
