Wayne County Public Schools will hold its annual All-County Choral Festival on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Goldsboro High School.

Three hundred choral students from around the district, representing 29 schools, will participate in the musical event.

Choral directors from each school chose students for their vocal ability and work ethic.

The annual program is divided into three segments, performed by elementary, middle and high school students. Accomplished professionals in the field direct each group of talented singers. The elementary school chorus will be led by Jana Winders, a Wilson County Schools music teacher and clinician. The middle school group will be directed by Eddie Adams, director of choral activities at Millbrook High School in Raleigh. Director of the high school chorus will be Mark Setzer, retired director of choral music and performing arts at South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte.

Wayne County Board of Education member Rick Pridgen will serve as master of ceremonies.

The festival is free and open to the public. Musical selections will include "In This Ancient House," "Alphabetiks," "Inscription of Hope," "Three Quotes by Mark Twain," "Dies Irae Mozart," "Earth Song" and "Go Down Moses."

For the finale, all of the performers from every grade level will combine their talents to sing "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother."
