A family dispute resulted in one man being shot in the leg and the other being arrested Friday night.

The shooting took place outside the victim's residence at 501 Forsyth St. at 9:10 p.m.

Jason Timmons, 28, of New Jersey, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and has been placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.

Police arrested Timmons after they responded to 501 Forsyth St. to reports of a person shot and found Jamaal Davis, 38, lying in the driveway of his residence with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to the report.

Officers secured the scene, established a perimeter and located Timmons, taking him into custody without incident.

The report said the men are related but did not say how.

The dispute that led to the shooting allegedly involved money.
