A man wounded by gunfire Sunday night said he did not see who fired the shots, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Ramelle Malek Lofton, 21 of East End Circle, told Goldsboro police he was walking home from the store at 6:35 p.m. when he heard several shots fired.
According to the report, Lofton was struck in the left leg and grazed on the right side of his abdomen. He managed to walk the rest of the way home and call 911.
Goldsboro police, fire and EMS responded and Lofton was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
No suspect information is listed on the report and phone calls to the Goldsboro Police Department seeking comment were not returned by press time.
This incident marks the third shooting in the city in five days.
A similar incident took place across town in the 100 block of Astor Court Christmas Day in which a man struck in the leg by a bullet could not identify who shot him, and investigators are still working to solve the Christmas Eve shooting outside the Skylight Mini Mart on East Ash Street that left one man in critical condition.
