Impact of social media on children to be discussed

The positive and negative effects of social media will be the topic of two presentations being held this week for parents and teachers.
"Your Child and Social Media" will be offered twice on Thursday, Nov. 6. Sponsored by the Mental Health Association of Wayne County, featured presenter will be Starr Barbara, Deputy Director of N.C. Center for Safer Schools.
The daytime session will be held at Wayne County Public Library in the Weil Auditorium from 3:30-5 p.m.
That evening, it will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at The Partnership for Children of Wayne County, 800 N. William St.
The event is free, but registration is required for those seeking 1.5 contact hours for CEU credit.
