Man, 46, charged in rape case

A Goldsboro man is charged with rape following an investigation conducted by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Richard Allen McCloud, 46, of 475 Black Jack Church Road, is charged with second-degree rape and is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
A report of sexual assault made to the sheriff's office Oct. 28 prompted the investigation.
Maj. Tom Effler said the arrest came the following day.
The victim, a 22-year-old female, was said to be an acquaintance of McCloud's.
He is due to appear in Wayne County District Court on Tuesday, Nov. 11, for a first appearance.
