Goldsboro police are investigating the early morning shooting of a Goldsboro man behind a residence on Porter Street.
Ontario Sumain Martin, 41, of Palm Street, was shot outside the home of a female acquaintance while waiting for her to come outside to speak to him, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Martin went to the home of Ava Smith, in the 1100 block of Porter Street, at 3 a.m. and began throwing pebbles at her bedroom window to get her attention, the report said.
Ms. Smith looked out her window and saw Martin, who asked her to come outside and talk to him. He went and sat on the back porch to wait.
As Ms. Smith was coming down the stairs, she heard two gunshots, the report said.
She waited until she thought it was safe before going outside. As she neared the back door of her home she could hear Martin screaming that he'd been shot.
Ms. Martin looked out the window and saw Martin had indeed been shot and she called police.
