A member of an alleged outlaw motorcycle club operating in Wayne County has been arrested as the result of a joint drug investigation conducted by local and federal law enforcement agencies.

Anthony Kirk Phillips, 43, 1200 Old Grantham Road, will face charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the use or sale of a controlled substance, according to a press release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Phillips is a self-proclaimed member of the Misplaced Souls motorcycle club -- a group local, state and federal law enforcement agencies categorize as an outlaw motorcycle club, according to the press release.

The group has a clubhouse on Grantham Road, Wayne County Sheriff's Office officials say.

The Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, and the Wilson Police Department conducted a joint investigation and intercepted approximately five pounds of marijuana headed for Phillips' residence, according to the release.

Phillips allegedly took possession of the marijuana at his home. When investigators moved in, they also found "other user amounts" of marijuana as well as paraphernalia inside the home.

Phillips was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

He is due to appear in Wayne County District Court Sept. 8.
