Local governments announce closings list for Labor Day holiday

Local, state and federal offices, banks, the Postal Service, and Wayne County Public Schools will be closed Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Wayne County government offices will be closed, as well as the landfill and convenience sites.

Goldsboro City Hall will be closed. Any trash pickup that usually occurs on Monday will be moved to Wednesday. All other days will remain the same.

Mount Olive Town Hall will be closed as will the town's recyclables center. Household garbage pickup will not affected. Yard waste pickup will be moved up one day, Monday's pickup will be on Tuesday, and Tuesday's pickup on Wednesday. The town board meeting that would normally be held Monday night has been rescheduled to Monday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. at town hall.

Fremont trash pickup will be moved to Tuesday.

Pikeville Town Hall will be closed. Garbage pickup will not be affected.

Town halls in Eureka and Seven Springs will be closed. No services will be affected.

Walnut Creek village and maintenance offices will be closed.

Carolina Southern Sanitation will be on a regular schedule during the holiday.
