Goldsboro and Wayne County might have come out relatively unscathed by Hurricane Arthur, but Air Force officials did not want to take any chances.
More than 50 F-15E Strike Eagles from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base's fleet were evacuated to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, hours before the storm passed through the area.
There has been no word yet from the 4th Fighter Wing on whether or not the jets have returned.
