Closings planned for holiday weekend

All Wayne County offices including the landfill and convenience sites will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
Goldsboro offices will be closed Friday. Trash service for Friday will be picked up on Wednesday for the holiday. The city will also not be picking up appliances during the week.
Mount Olive town offices and the recyclable center will be closed on Friday.
Thursday's household garbage route will be picked up on Wednesday, and Friday's route will be picked up on Thursday.
Yard waste pickup will not be affected.
Fremont offices will be closed on Friday, and trash routes will run as scheduled.
Pikeville offices will be closed, and trash pickup will be on Thursday.
Carolina Southern Sanitation will operate on a normal schedule during the July Fourth holiday.
Walnut Creek offices will be closed Friday. Trash and recycling pickup are unaffected by the holiday.
Seven Springs and Eureka town offices will be closed for the holiday.
Local, state and federal offices, banks and post offices also will be closed Friday.
As of press time, only two public fireworks displays have been scheduled for Friday.
* Berkeley Mall will begin fireworks at 9 p.m. Friday. Fireworks will be launched from the construction site adjacent to the mall.
* The fireworks display sponsored by the town of Mount Olive and Mount Olive Jaycees will begin launching from the Mount Olive Airport at dusk.
